Question Are any repossessed houses sold at auction?
Answer 
The majority of repossessed houses are sold at auction. It is highly unlikely that you would find these properties in any estate agent's window! These properties cannot usually be bought directly from the banks/building societies and unlike the USA there is no central database of repossessions to buy before they go to auction.  Return to Top

If you have a property to sell to partly fund the purchase, a bridging loan may offer a solution. Try www.google.co.uk for providers. If you are looking just for finance there are specialist companies who offer commercial or but-to-let products which may suit your requirements.  Return to Top
 
Question If I bought a property at auction, when do pay for it?
Answer 
Most auctioneers require a minimum 10% deposit on the day, subject to the terms of the auctioneers. Legal completion is usually 28 days later, when the balance of the purchase price etc will fall due.  Return to Top
 
Question What if I could not attend an auction in person?
Answer
